Passive House In-Depth Workshop

What is the Passive House building standard and how can it help bring your green projects to the next level?. Attend the PHCa 2010 Passive House Workshop and gain a solid understanding of the methodology and benefits, learn best practices for the California climate, and discover what this proven approach to sustainability can do for your projects. Architects, Engineers, Building Scientists and Contractors with experience in Passive House will introduce these topics and conduct lectures, hands-on activities and Q&A sessions.

Distinguish yourself with the new LEED Green Associate credential. The LEED Green Associate credential is for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice. This credential focuses on basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations. USGBC-NCC’s full-day LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation Workshop is designed to prepare you to pass the test with confidence--the first time. Participants will receive an eligibility certificate to take the LEED Green Associate exam upon completion of this course. The workshop will focus on the key information necessary to pass the LEED Green Associate exam, including: LEED implementation process, project site factors, water management, energy impacts, synergistic opportunities, stakeholder involvement in innovation, project surroundings, public outreach & test taking tips and strategies.

 

LEED For Existing Buildings: Introduction, Overview and the Business Case

Walk through the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED EBOM) system, assessment process and the business case for pursuing certification with green building experts in the field. Learn about implementation and documentation processes and the roles and responsibilities of team members working within a typical project time line. This workshop is geared towards helping building owners, operators and facility managers improve the energy efficiency, occupant health and environmental impact of their building operations.
